John Goodwin has been a practicing family lawyer since 1975 and family mediator since 1982.
As the first President of the Ontario Association for Family Mediation and a continuing educator in alternative dispute resolution, John has long been a proponent of the non-adversarial resolution of issues that arise when families restructure during separation and divorce.
Although an experienced litigator, the focus of John’s practice is on achieving fair and effective settlements for his clients without going to court.
This is the aim of the Collaborative Family Law (CFL) process.
In this process, John advises and advocates on your behalf, guiding you through the delicate and complicated task of restructuring your family in a respectful, co-operative, problem-solving manner.
He was one of the original team providing CFL training to Ottawa area lawyers in both 2001 and 2002.
John invites you to contact him to learn more about this collaborative process and how it can work for you.
